New format for Kbis sponsored BRC Festival of the Hunter 2009

Wednesday, May 06, 2009

The Festival of the Hunter Challenge replaces the existing Cross-Country competition with the new format being a test of the ability of a horse and rider to negotiate a course of seven to ten show jumps together with eight to 15 cross-country fences.

This class will be available to Junior and Senior Riding Club members at Novice and Open level, plus a Pairs class for those who don’t wish to go it alone. All of the Challenge classes require qualification at Area level.

Also new in 2009 is the Festival of the Hunter Combined Competition. This consists of two phases, Riding Test (RT7-2007) and Style Jumping for both Juniors and Seniors.

There is also a selection of eight showing classes plus a Supreme Championship Class. There are no Area Qualifiers for these events and entries must be made direct to BRC head office at Stoneleigh.

The 2009 event will take place on 30 and 31 May at Washbrook Farm, Aston le Walls, Daventry, Northamptonshire NN11 6RT. The event remains a two-day competition after the success of the newly introduced two-day Festival in 2008.
