BRC Dressage to Music Championships 2007

More than 170 individuals entered the National Dressage to Music finals, held at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre, on 6 and 7 October.

New for this year the championship Novice section was split into a zero British Dressage (BD) points group and a zero to 74 BD points for both the Seniors and Juniors competitions.

The junior dressage to music competition kicked off the championship with the zero points section. The youngest qualifier Annabelle Jepson on Berberrys Blaze, from Hykeham Riding Club, took the top place with a score of 273.

Close behind in second place with 269 points was last year's Junior Champion, Rachel Musgrove, on Gulliver the Melody Maker.

The zero to 74 BD point's section opened with Helen Turner riding Marbon Musk. Her third time representing Wokingham and Bearwood RC at the final, Helen set a high standard, proving to be unbeatable with a score of 257.

Second place was awarded to Hannah Juliet Schulze, on Milton-D, with a score of 252.

The second day of the event saw the Senior Championships opening with the Pairs competition.

A slick uniformed performance given by Heidi Rose, on Foxtrot, with Joanna Lee, on Adamant, saw Sid and Otter Valley RC win first place with a score of 342.

In second place with a score of 338 were Amanda Pidgely, on Longcopse Elton and Dawn Vear, on Kilncopse Fly By Night from New Forest Pony Enthusiasts RC.

The Novice Dressage began with the point's section, with 18 riders taking part.

It was a close call between Charlotte Baillie from South Western DG and Alison Moorhouse with only a point between them. In the end, Charlotte stole the crown with a performance on Mister Deep scoring 265.

It was Alison's first time at the Addington DTM Championships and her excellent performance on Ben earned her second place with a score of 264.

The Novice zero points competition followed with an impressive 31 competitors.

The winner, Melanie Riders, who came fourth at last year's Novice Championships, achieved a score of 282.5, on Mandalara Valentine. In second place with 273.5 points was Beatrice Robinson, on Wattlemeade Norman.

The weekend drew to a close with the Senior Elementary competition being won by Pamela Walker, on Thompson, from Isis Dressage Group, with a score of 335.

A very close second, with a score of 333, went to Marilyn Turner, on Copperfield Graffiti, from Horsham and District.
