British Dressage Appoints New CEO

British Dressage, the governing body for the sport of dressage in the UK has appointed Amanda Bond as the new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding David Holmes who takes on the role of Executive Director of Sports at the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI).
Currently the Deputy Principal of Hartpury College and their Equestrian Events Director, Amanda Bond has extensive experience in running high profile international equestrian events, including the FEI World Para Dressage Championships hosted by Hartpury College in 2007, the FEI Mitsubishi Motors Hartpury International Horse Trials (CIC***/CCI**/CCI*) and the Hartpury Festival of Dressage incorporating CDI***, CPDI*** and Premier League.
Amanda will start at BD shortly after completing a prestigious secondment as Chief of Paralympic Services in Hong Kong and the Deputy Venue Manager for Equestrian Events (Hong Kong) for the Beijing Games 2008. Ms Bond takes on the role at an important time in the progress of the sport and comments;

An ambitious strategic plan has been developed by David Holmes and the Board, and I look forward to working with all at BD to implement the initiatives. With the Europeans taking place at Windsor next year and London 2012, dressage has a fantastic opportunity to build on the excellent work done to date. I feel honoured to be part of that bright future.”
BD Chairman Jennie Loriston-Clarke adds “We are delighted to welcome Amanda to the role of CEO. She brings with her a unique track record of successful leadership and technical expertise at the highest levels of equestrian sport. This experience will be invaluable to BD in building on the legacy David Holmes has put in place and I believe Amanda is ideally positioned to guide us into the next phase of our dynamic plans.”
