Emile Faurie Masterclass at BD Winter Championships

One of the countries top dressage riders, Emile Faurie will be in action at theWinter Dressage Championships at Solihull Riding Club, the Midlands, 5-9 April 2006.
Emile, who has represented Britain at two Olympic Games, three World Equestrian Games and European Championships, will take the master class and perform a grand prix freestyle on both Friday and Saturday night gala evenings.
There will be demonstrations of training skills with a different kind of four-legged friend on the same evenings. Mary Ray, one of the country’s leading dog trainers and three-times winner of the Crufts Obedience Championships, will be making her first appearance at these championships by performing one of her world-famous heelwork to music displays each gala evening.
After more than 3,000 qualifying competitions and five regional championships, Britain’s best will be assembling for these championships, the pinnacle of the winter dressage season.
The show kicks off on Wednesday with the Spillers Response Combined Training Championship. As well as performing a dressage test, each competitor will show their skill over a course of show jumps, designed by show director and BSJA course designer Kelvin Bywater.
The Petplan Equine Area Festival Finals also get under way on this day. The top-placed Area Festival competitors of 2005 will challenge each other in the finals of this illustrious series.
From Thursday onwards, riders will be vying for the many hotly-contested titles on offer from preliminary to prix st georges, including the ever-popular freestyle to music championships. This year will see the introduction of the Nupafeed Advanced Medium Freestyle.
