Best of British head for Hartpury’s Festival of Dressage
Final plans are underway for next week’s inaugural Festival of Dressage at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire The show, which runs from 13 – 17 July, will be a unique event combining all elements of national and international dressage. The show includes one of only four international dressage events in Great Britain this year, along with international paralympic dressage and top class Premier League national action.
Entries have been received from a number of nations including Australia, Japan, Ireland, Germany, Portugal and the USA. Nominated entries have been received for the International (CDI) classes, including a number of Great Britain’s top combinations such as Olympian’s Carl Hester riding Escapado, Richard Davidson riding Hiscox Karachi and Active Walero with Nicola McGivern.
The IPEC (International Paralympic Equestrian Committee) classes are being held as preparation for Hartpury hosting the 2007 World Championships. The Championships to be held from 16 – 22 July 2007 are to be supported by UK Sport, and will be the main qualifying event for the Beijing Olympics.
British Dressage are taking every opportunity of the international action by hosting a series of judge training seminars using the latest video technology, hosted by top class international FEI judges.
