There were eight newly-crowned champions at the 2007 Blue Waters National Dressage Championships at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, which runs until Sunday.
KBIS British Equestrian Insurance Para Dressage
There are four categories in this class. The riders are graded according to their level of disability with Grade I being the most severe. Lee Pearson and Simon Laurens, who were members of the gold-medal winning team at the recent World Para Dressage Championships, retained their 2006 national titles.
- Grade I: Lee Pearson and Romanze In Dark
- Grade II: Natasha Baker and Waldminor
- Grade III: Simon Laurens and Ocean Diamond
- Grade IV: Alan Clements and MJ Fine Art
Dodson & Horrell Novice Open Championship
Shearwater Insurance Young Horse Championship
- Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro
Charlotte and Valegro, who are the current Shearwater FEI Five-year-old Dressage Horse Champions, won two titles. Valegro is Dutch-bred by Negro and owned by Carl Hester.
Bates Saddles Intermediaire I Championship
- Gareth Hughes and Sandman
Yesterday Gareth won the prix st georges title with the Dutch-bred eight-year-old by Jazz. Today he and the horse owned by his wife, Rebecca Patmore, scored more than 74% to take the class ahead of yesterday's intermediaire II winners, Judy Harvey and Fitzcerraldo.
Saracen Horse Feeds Advanced Medium Championship
- Carl Hester and TMovistar
Carl, who has been the British Dressage (BD) National Champion four times, has now amassed a record 41 national dressage titles. This was his first win of these championships. He was riding Sarah Tyler-Evans' seven-year-old 16.1hh Dutch-bred stallion by Jazz, with whom he first achieved success while on the Spanish Sunshine Tour this spring.
