Packed House Hails Paul Hayler
A packed house of over 700 dressage fans was treated to a fascinating evening of entertainment on Saturday 3rd December at Unex Towerlands, Essex. International dressage rider Paul Hayler attracted supporters from across the region eager to see his spectacular Gala Music Extravaganza, and they were not disappointed.
The evening started with a stylish young horse quadrille sponsored by Baileys Horse Feeds. The four young horses, a pair of bays and a pair of chestnuts, showed maturity way beyond their tender years to execute a complicated routine in fine style, and set the standard for the evening to come.
Paul arrived on foot for the next part of the demonstration, a teach-in with one of his pupils, appropriately sponsored by construction training company, Qualify UK.
The enthusiastic crowd, clearly enjoying the benefits of Unex Towerlands recently upgraded facilities that include heated grandstands, were in no hurry to leave their seats during the interval and thoroughly enjoyed watching the shire horses, sponsored by PressPoint PR and Marketing, as they harrowed the arena.
Candles were lit ready for the Equistro Pas de Deux, where Paul donned a sequinned jacket to complete a fascinating routine in harmony with Ruth Hurst, to rapturous applause.
The evening ended on a high as Paul showed off his established Grand Prix Freestyle test (sponsored by Prestige Italia) with Helen Skirton’s Martinique.
Raffle prizes were kindly supplied by the major sponsors and Elevator Bridles, while Lexus Woodford generously ran a draw to win a car for a weekend. All proceeds went to the Sarah Hayler Training Fund, which helps talented young dressage riders.
