Summer Equestrian action at Borde Hill
Following the return of the British Eventing Horse Trials to Borde Hill near Haywards Heath, West Sussex in May, equestrian action continues this August at the spectacular Grade II* English Heritage listed parkland with its country house and renowned Garden.
In the aftermath of the successful London 2012 Olympic Bid, the Lawnflite Pony Club Area 11 Eventing Qualifier on August 11th is a chance for some of the young stars of the future to show their talent by earning a place at the Pony Club National Championships. The event makes full use of the two cross-country courses built for the B.E. Horse Trials and will see the inauguration of a new Intro course that makes the most of the natural splendour of the venue, its undulating terrain and glistening lakes.
On 20th-21st August Brockham Harness Club are again running their successful Two-Day Carriage Driving Trials which are kindly sponsored by local barristers Casalier Ltd (www.casalier.com). The event promises first class driving with adrenalin-pumping, mud-flying action. Supporting sponsor Creaseys Chartered Accountants continue their involvement with Borde Hill Equestrian events as do Bellcrown Carriages and UBM Hire.
The Driving runs in conjunction with Borde Hill Country Fair, which offers entertainment ranging from casting demonstrations, dog training & agility, to falconry, fishing and craft displays. The Fair will also feature over 200 stands for crafts, food, gardening, clothing, riding, shooting and fishing equipment.
Borde Hill is located 1½ miles north of Haywards Heath, and only a short drive from the M23/A23. Admission which includes the Country Fair, the Garden and Adventure Playground, is Adults £6, Concessions £5, Children (3-15 years) £3.50, with Group rates also available.
