Barbury Horse Trials Jumps Into Top Division

In only it’s second year of running, The Maybach Barbury Castle CIC*** International Horse Trials (near Marlborough, Wilts) has soared straight into British Eventing’s Premier League (alongside Badminton and Burghley) and confirms its top division sponsors for 2006. Maybach, the luxury brand of DaimlerChrysler, is to continue its sponsorship of Barbury as a showcase for what is one of the world’s most exclusive car brands. In addition, Mercedes-Benz (also a DaimlerChrysler brand) is to support Barbury’s Novice classes in 2006.

This year, Barbury’s competitions will make up a packed programme across the two days. Spectators on Saturday 8th July will see The Maybach Barbury Castle CIC Dressage & all three phases of The Mercedes-Benz Novice Horse Trials sections while Sunday 9th July will feature The Maybach Barbury Castle CIC International Show Jumping, followed by the deciding Maybach Barbury Castle CIC Cross Country International phase

“In its brilliant debut last year, Barbury proved itself a truly exciting competition and is now a ‘must-be-there’ event for riders and spectators alike,” commented last year’s winner, William Fox-Pitt.

Admission tickets will be £5 per person on Saturday and £10 per person on Sunday (under 12s free) with a choice of extras available. These include the option to purchase Picnic Parking tickets or badges for The Maybach Members Enclosure. The latter offers exclusive Main Arena viewing and a bar and restaurant; plus CCTV coverage of Sunday’s Barbury event, alongside live screening of the Wimbledon Final and Sunday evening World Cup Football. Members tickets will be subject to availability and advance booking is strongly recommended.
