Burghley Winner To Contest HSBC World Cup Title

Recent Burghley winner, William Fox-Pitt, will be challenging the rest of the world in a bid to add the HSBC World Cup title to his trophy cabinet. Having previously been held in Pau and Malmo the final moves, this year, to Deauville in France and is part of the R.I.D.E Festival which incorporates Show Jumping, pure Dressage and Driving as well as Eventing.

William will ride Robert Waley-Cohen and Jessica Thomas’, Kaleidoscope, with whom he was third in the CIC*** at Chatsworth, earlier in the year. He is joined by Pippa Funnell, who rides her mother’s and her own, Ensign, who took second place in the penultimate HSBC World Cup Qualifier in Martinvast, at the end of August.

There will be strong competition from Lucinda and Clayton Fredericks who ride Headley Britannia and Ben Along Time respectively, Bettina Hoy with Ringwood Cockatoo and 2008 Badminton winner Nicholas Touzaint and Hildago de I’lle.
