Knowing that the principal favourites were competing in the event today, we were expecting a major change in the provisional line-up after the second day of dressage.

The German rider Michel Jung, who was in the lead with his first horse, Birkhof's Grafenstoltz TSF remains in pole position. But in addition, he managed to increase his chances of finishing on the winning podium with his second horse, Miss Meller TSF, after a performance which went well and a score of 35.4 points. Lying in ambush, with only 1.1 points more than him, is the 4th best rider in the world, Clayton Fredericks from Australia and Ben Along Tame in 3rd position (he finished 5th with his other horse Nullabor).
The current European and Olympic champion and leading French rider, Nicolas Touzaint and Hildago de l'Ile finished in 9th position with 43.3 points. Karim Florent Lahouag was disappointed after his test: "In dressage, being the best rider hangs on very little. It is a matter of small details hereand there that need to be mastered to finish among the five best riders."
