In an exciting new development, Mitsubishi Motors in the UK has committed its continued sponsorship and support to The Mitsubishi Motors Stately Homes Challenge for the next three years – further lifting and developing the profile of this “grass roots” equestrian event.
Guaranteed Prize Money
A new £5,000 first prize will be won by the rider who achieves the most points when competing in The Mitsubishi Motors Stately Homes Challenge intermediate sections at five events this year, listed below.
Run under British Eventing rules. Each Rider can only carry forward their highest score from each event, thus making this unique Challenge a level playing field for the one horse rider, or riders with several horses.
Qualifying Events
Qualifying events will be held at:
- Somerley Park Horse Trials - March 25th – 26th
- Powderham Castle Horse Trials - April 18th – 20th
- Longleat Horse Trials - June 13th – 15th
- Wilton Horse Trials - July 26th – 27th
The Final
The grand final will be run at Highclere Castle Horse Trials - Bank Holiday Monday 25th August, where the £5,000 prize will be won, plus many other attractive prizes such as two tickets to the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
Mitsubishi Motors supported this innovative Challenge for the past three years, when the 1st prize was the use of a Mitsubishi vehicle for a year – previously won by Nick Gauntlett, Charlie Pickman and, last year, Andrew Nicholson.
Mitsubishi Motors are of course well known for their sponsorship of The Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials , which is now in its 16th year from 1st-4th May 2008, and more recently The Mitsubishi Motors Hartpury College Trials from August 7th – 10th 2008.
A new website has been produced especially for the event, which can be found at http://www.mitsubishi-statelyhomeschallenge.co.uk
