Strong British Contingent For Le Lion

Tuesday, October 14, 2008

This weekend some of the best young horses from Britain will travel to France to contest the Annual World Young Horse Championships at Le Lion d’Angers 16 – 19 October.

The event is a showcase for six and seven year old horses which have shown outstanding form throughout the year. Heading the line-up are Olympic Bronze medallists Daisy Dick and William Fox-Pitt. Daisy rides The Scott-Gall Syndicate and her mother’s, Mopani, with whom she was 12th in the CCI1* at Houghton earlier in the year. William rides two French-bred horses, Neuf des Coeurs in the seven year old CCI2* and Oslo in the six year old CCI1*.

Joining them is Pippa Funnell, who like William has two rides, both of whom are past British Young Horse Champions. Billy Landretti, the 2006 four year old Champion will contest the six year olds, while Redesigned, the 2007 6 year old Champion, will contest the seven year old Championship.
