The Scottish TREC Advisory Group (STAG) are this year hosting the BHS TREC Championship of Great Britain, the major event of the TREC calendar, at Karecole Stables, West Linton on the weekend of 22 and 23 August.

Competitors this year must qualify to compete in the Championship for the first time, by taking part in regional qualifiers – currently being held throughout the UK.

The venue is surrounded by the Pentland Hills and Cloich Forest, which will provide all competitors with some spectacular views. The PTV (Obstacle course) will run across a 50-acre undulating field with natural obstacles, so competitors will need to be on top form to prove they are at championship level!

The Championship will offer classes for Level 2 and 3 Individuals and Pairs, and Level 4 Individuals.

Carolyn Macdonald, Chairman of STAG said: “The 2009 Championship will offer a challenging PTV and POR and will really allow TREC riders to test themselves and the partnership they have with their horse.”
