Inter Hunt Team Knock-Out Gathers Momentum at Royal Windsor
Friday, April 23, 2010
Following a successful pilot in 2009, organisers of Royal Windsor Horse Show (12-16th May) are delighted to re-schedule the Inter Hunt Team Knock-Out, this year supported by The Countryside Alliance.
Taking pride of place in The Castle Arena from 2:45pm on Thursday 13th May, the competition will feature 24 Hunts from across the UK.
Simon Brooks-Ward, event director at Royal Windsor Horse Show said: “The competition this year has received huge interest and so we’ve decided to make the Thursday of the Show a real Hunt Day and want to attract as many subscribers and supporters to the event as possible. Therefore we are offering special ticket discounts for members of the Hunts taking part. We are so pleased that Hunts from across England are making the trip to Windsor, making it a truly National competition.”
In 2009, 16 Hunts took part in the competition at Royal Windsor, with victory going to The Seavington Hunt. Demand for places in 2010 has been so high that some teams have had to join a reserve list.
Definite entries so far are: Cheshire Farmers; Chiddingfold, Leconfield and Cowdray; Cotswold; Cotswold Vale Farmers; Devon and Somerset Staghounds; Duke of Beaufort’s; East Essex; Essex; Heythrop; High Peak; North Cotswold; Old Berkshire; Old Surrey Burstow and West Kent; Puckeridge; Pytchley; Royal Artillery; Seavington; Southdown and Eridge; Teme Valley; Vale of Aylesbury with Garth and South Berks; V.W.H; Warwickshire and Wilton.
The fastest eight teams from the first round will go through to the second round, with the following rounds conducted as knockouts so the teams are whittled down to four, then two, before the winner is crowned.
