Peppermill and John Whitaker Withdrawn

Sunday, August 17, 2008

Peppermill, horse number 328 ridden by John Whittaker, was a little tight and stiff over his back this morning and has been closely monitored by the team veterinarians and equine physiotherapist throughout the day.

Despite receiving all the treatment and possible care the decision has been made that it would not be right to ask the horse to jump around a track of Olympic standards and for this reason Peppermill has been withdrawn from Sunday night’s round.

Although a major blow for the team, Tim Stockdale, Ben Maher and Nick Skelton remain focused on delivering the best result possible for Team GB.
