August seems so far away, but for the Hong Kong Jockey Club it will be here is a blink of an eye, as they have the monstrous task of hosting, organising and the running of the equestrian disciplines for this year Olympic Games.

It wasn’t decided until mid 2005 that the horse events would actually take place in Hong Kong, rather than Beijing. This meant the start of large headache to accommodate some 478 Olympic and Para Olympic horses, riders, owners, grooms... and find somewhere for them to train and compete, in one of the most densely populated cities in the world, in what on record, are the two wettest and most humid months.
